Dr. Carolyn Sanders

Dr. Carolyn Sanders is a former Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer. She has extensive executive and leadership experience at both the local hospital level and the system level. Carolyn’s strategic leadership consistently led to improved quality and patient outcomes which resulted in her organization receiving numerous national quality and safety awards. Carolyn’s leadership philosophy is to empower front line clinical leaders to make decision affecting their work environment and practice. Carolyn was instrumental in a system-wide implementation of an electronic medical record including: CPOE, electronic medication administration, clinical documentation, eICU, nurse call center and nurse staff scheduling.

Carolyn firmly believes that nurses have the power and capability to dramatically impact healthcare. Though Carolyn is now retired, she understands, believes in and is a tenacious supporter of the use of technology and innovation in nursing.
